The Shannon McCabe Show | Sobriety & Healthy Living

For years, I looked like I had it all together—a stay-at-home, work-from-home, homeschooling mom of three. But behind closed doors, I was hiding alcohol in my home office, sneaking drinks, and lying to my husband and daughters. What started as a glass of wine to unwind turned into a habit I couldn’t control. I spent years trying to quit on my own, convinced something was wrong with me. But the truth? The problem wasn’t me—the problem was alcohol. And once I finally accepted that, everything changed. Now, I’m on a mission to help other women break free before they hit rock bottom. On this podcast, I’m breaking down the myths about alcohol, exposing the truth about its impact, and redefining sobriety as the empowering choice it truly is. Welcome to the Shannon McCabe Show podcast! Whether you’re newly sober, struggling to quit, or years into this journey, this show will give you the confidence, strategies, and real talk conversations to help you create a life that feels really good—without alcohol. No matter what your past looks like, no matter how stuck you feel, you can come back at any time—and you don’t have to do it alone. This episode of The Shannon McCabe Show podcast is for the woman who’s all in—or trying to be. The one who’s ready to build something solid, real, and lasting in her sobriety… even if it feels hard right now.
We’re talking about what it really takes to create a life without alcohol—starting with the foundation. Just like building a house, you don’t start with paint colors—you start with the blueprint. The solid ground. The vision.
Inside this episode, I’m sharing: 🏗 Why the early stages of sobriety can feel wobbly—and how to stay grounded 🦋 How your growth may also involve grief (and why that’s a sign you’re evolving) 😣 What to do in the middle space—the messy, emotional, “what now?” part 💡 The small steps that create massive transformation over time 🌱 Why surrender and discomfort are part of the path—not a sign you’re failing
Whether you're just starting out or you're deep into the process, this is your reminder: you’re not just quitting drinking. You’re building a whole new way of living—and that’s no small thing.

If you’ve ever believed summer just isn’t summer without drinks on the patio or cocktails by the lake, I feel you—because I used to think the same thing.
In this episode, I’m sharing what my first sober spring and summer actually looked like. Spoiler alert: it was more joyful, connected, and life-giving than I ever expected.
We’ll talk about: 🌞 The fears I had going into summer without alcohol 👙 Why sobriety didn’t take away from the fun—it made it more real 🧠 How to handle those sneaky social triggers that pop up at BBQs, beaches, and backyard hangs 📅 Why having a plan matters more than just hoping for the best 💪 The power of micro-decisions (and why they add up in big ways)
This one’s part pep talk, part toolbox for anyone who’s feeling unsure about what summer looks like without booze. If you’re walking into your first (or next!) sober season, I hope this episode reminds you that fun, freedom, and confidence don’t come from a drink—they come from you.

In this episode of The Shannon McCabe Show, I’m getting honest about something so many of us wrestle with—the shift from seeing alcohol as something fun… to realizing it might actually be the thing holding you back.
I’m walking you through what that moment looked like for me, and the emotional rollercoaster that followed—from denial and doubt, to grief, to the deep relief and freedom I’ve found on the other side.
We talk about: 🍷 The role alcohol plays in our identity and social life 😔 Why giving it up can feel like a breakup (because in many ways, it is) 💭 The mental energy we waste trying to “moderate” 🧠 And how redirecting that energy can lead to real healing and growth
If you’re sober curious, navigating early sobriety, or just feeling that nudge that something’s off, this is a safe, honest convo about what it really looks like to let go—and what you gain in the process.

Is Alcohol the New Cigarette? Let’s Talk About It...
In this episode, I’m sharing a little behind-the-scenes moment from a recent lesson inside my coaching program—and it’s one I couldn’t not bring to the podcast.
We’re diving into a powerful comparison: the way we used to think about tobacco... and the way we currently think about alcohol.
For so long, cigarettes were glamorized, normalized, and pushed hard by marketing—until we finally started waking up to the truth. And now? We're starting to see something very similar happening with alcohol.
This episode isn’t about shame or labels—it’s about reframing sobriety as a proactive, empowering choice for your health, energy, and life.
We’ll talk about: 🚫 How alcohol is marketed (and what’s not being said) 🌿 Why choosing not to drink doesn't mean you have a “problem” 💛 The growing movement of women choosing clarity over cocktails 🔥 And how you can feel confident in your choice to live alcohol-free—whatever that looks like for you
If you’ve ever questioned your relationship with alcohol or just wanted to feel more aligned with how you care for your body and mind, this one’s for you.

In this episode of The Shannon McCabe Show, I’m sharing a story that’s still fresh in my legs and in my heart—my recent hike up Camelback Mountain in Phoenix. 🥵Spoiler: it was hard. Like, really hard. And somewhere between the burning quads and the “what was I thinking?” thoughts, I realized just how much the climb reminded me of my sobriety journey.
I talk about: ⛰️ Pushing through when it would’ve been easier to quit 🧠 The mental game of doing something hard when no one else can do it for you 👀 Letting go of what others might be thinking (because most people are focused on their own climb) 💛 And how sometimes, all you can do is take the next step—and that’s enough
This episode isn’t just about hiking or sobriety—it’s about showing up for yourself when life feels uphill, trusting your strength, and learning to love the climb.

We’ve been sold the idea that alcohol makes life more fun, helps us relax, and brings people together. But what if that’s not the whole story?
In this episode of The Shannon McCabe Show, I’m pulling back the curtain on the five sneaky ways alcohol might actually be costing you—without you even realizing it. We’re talking about:
🍷 Time lost to hangovers, sluggish mornings, and regret.⚡ Energy & motivation drained, leaving you feeling stuck.💔 Confidence & self-trust shaken by the cycle of “I’ll cut back” and not following through.🧠 Hormonal & mental health struggles that alcohol quietly fuels.🤝 Relationships & real connections weakened when drinking is the default.
If you’ve ever questioned whether alcohol is really adding to your life, this episode will give you the clarity (and honesty) you need to start making changes.
I also share a bit about my Alcohol-Free Blueprint—a program designed to help you break free from the cycle and create a life that feels better without alcohol.

Welcome to the very first episode of The Shannon McCabe Show! I’m kicking things off by getting real about my journey—because if you’re here, chances are you or someone you love has questioned their relationship with alcohol.
For years, I looked like I had it all together. I was a successful health and wellness coach, a mom, and on paper, my life seemed pretty perfect. But behind closed doors, things were unraveling. What started as a glass of wine to take the edge off turned into late-night drinking alone, hiding alcohol, and struggling in silence. Society makes it so easy to believe that drinking is just part of motherhood—hello, Mommy Wine Culture—but for me, it became something I couldn’t control.
In August 2022, I hit my breaking point. I knew something had to change. I got honest with myself, sought help, and chose a different path—one that led me to sobriety, healing, and a supportive community that truly gets it.
This episode is for anyone who’s ever wondered, Do I have a problem? You are not broken. You are not alone. And if you’re ready for a change, I’m here to tell you—it’s possible.
